McDonald's recently added a new premium burger to their menu in southwest Michigan. The Bacon Clubhouse ($4.69) features a beef patty topped with caramelized grilled onions, applewood-smoked bacon, white cheddar, leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and special sauce. That last ingredient is particularly significant because the Bacon Clubhouse is the first sandwich that includes special sauce since the Big Mac.
The burger comes on a new "soft artisan roll" and is also available with a grilled or fried chicken patty. A GrubGrade reviewer called the Bacon Clubhouse "the best McDonald's burger" and noted that the special sauce makes it taste like a grown-up Big Mac.
A similar burger, named the Clubhouse Quarter Pounder, was tested last September in South Florida, but featured a different formulation of special sauce.
Will you try the new Bacon Clubhouse if it is released nationally?
