West Coast burger chain Umami Burger is set to open the first of three planned New York outposts next Monday in the West Village. (Hint: restaurants are often known to soft open before the announced date). The chain will bring many of the burgers from their west coast locations, such as the Original Umami Burger and the Truffle Burger, but it will also offer exclusive location-specific options. In the West Village this means a Five Spice Duck burger with parsnip and apple-peach chutney.
The restaurant will be a sit-down, waiter service affair, with a full bar and cocktails (prices TBD). The menu will focus heavily on burgers and sides as one would expect, but will also feature salads and possibly other sandwiches in the near future. Burger prices will range from $10-$15.
