The first annual World Food Championships took place last Thursday to Sunday in Las Vegas, featuring $300,000 in prizes in seven categories. Congratulations to the first place winner of the World Burger Championship, Lucky 13 from Salt Lake City, who took home $10,000 for their Spicy Candied Bacon Cajun Burger. The next three winners according to this scoresheet were recipe writer Julie Hession of Peanut Butter & Julie; Mark Bucher, founder of BGR The Burger Joint; and Tal Goldsby, member of the team who placed first at the Best Memphis Burger Fest.
Lucky 13 also came in second place in the Final Table competition, earning them an extra $10,000 (first place went to Sandwich Championship winners Robert Butler and Lowell McCain).
Have any AHT'ers tried Lucky 13?
