Yesterday's episode of Every Day with Rachael Ray featured a Battle of the Best Burger competition between three burger joint owners: Mauricio Oliveros from Frank-N-Burger in Long Island, New York; Tommy Up from PYT in Philadelphia; and Paul Malvone from Boston Burger Company in Boston. The grand prize: a spot at this year's Burger Bash at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Miami, along with VIP passes, airfare, hotel accommodations, $500, and a recipe printed in Rachael's magazine. The three competing burgers:
- Mauricio's Frank-N-Burger topped with pineapple, crushed potato chips, sautéed onions, ham, mozzarella cheese, mustard, ketchup, and a Thousand Island dressing
- Tommy's Korean Short Rib Burger, an eight-ounce short rib blend patty marinated overnight in a traditional Korean BBQ sauce, topped with spicy Korean mayo and kimchee
- Paul's Hot Mess burger topped with American cheese, chopped up pickles, bacon, red onions, jalapeños, shredded lettuce, sweet potato fries, and Thousand Island dressing
