Then Chang pulls out some bullshit that me and friend (who's got a few hundred more of their burgers in his past) had never heard of: chile peppers. They came two to a sealed plastic bag and were unnaturally yellow and picturesque. And spicy! Damn.
Lessons learned in first 24 hours of book touring: Grab-bag eating on the run between commitments and travel is gonna be the rule, not the exception. Order peppers at In-N-Out burger.
Even with all the not-so-secret secret In-N-Out menu stuff, this is still a new one—at least to me.
