Shake Shack Opening in Downtown Brooklyn Tomorrow

After announcing the location a year ago, Shake Shack is finally opening their first Brooklyn location in the Fulton Mall tomorrow, December 20, at 409 Fulton Street (map). There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

Milk Burger Appears in New York Magazine's 'Approval Matrix' for Ripping Off Shake Shack

Milk Burger earned a spot in New York Magazine's August 1 "Approval Matrix" near the edge of "Despicable/Lowbrow" for being such a Shake Shack ripoff that they used a Shack Burger photo on their website (now changed to a photo of one of their actual burgers). The good part of Milk Burger emulating Shake Shack (aside from the tons of press)? Their burgers aren't bad.

Milk Burger Owner 'Shocked' About Shake Shack Rip-off Allegation

Yesterday DNAinfo.com talked to Milk Burger owner Erik Mayor about his website ripping off Shake Shack. What they found out: "Milk Burger owner Erik Mayor, 36, told DNAinfo he was 'shocked' when he learned of the accusation, and attributed the the errors to an intern who had created Milk Burger's website." (Milk Burger's website is currently down, but you can see screenshots on DNAinfo and our review.) Furthermore, Mayor says about his burger versus Shake Shack's, "The biggest difference is that it doesn't cause the bloating that the Shack Burger has."
