Best Three Seconds: Watching a Jucy Lucy Ooze Cheese

A staple feature of the Minneapolis-born Jucy Lucy is the seven-ounce burger's molten core of cheesy ooze. As explained on AHT before, that's not extra-sharp cheddar inside a cooked meat patty but good ol' American cheese. As burger expert John T. Edge sagely put it, "Only those orange squares of vaguely plastic texture will achieve proper fluidity."

Watch the scalding-hot cheese gush out of one Jucy Lucy, recently gobbled down by our friend Grocery Eats. His was from Matt's Bar, the alleged home of J-Luce, though just across the street, the 5-8 Club also claims fatherhood but spells it "Juicy Lucy." Video after the jump.
