McDonald's Hamburger Barely Changes After Sitting Out for 137 Days

[Photograph: Sally Davies] This art project will surprise no one who's read about the 12-year-old McDonald's hamburger that looks about the same as a fresh one (and you probably have since, for better or worse, it's one of the...

Video: Behind the Scenes Look at McDonald's on 'Nightline'

While McDonald's may not be known for deliciousness, "Their competitive advantage is ubiquity, speed, and consistency," as John said in his Angus Snack Wrap review. Get a look at how they feed 60 million people a day in last...

Angus Snack Wrap at McDonald's: Better Than The Mac Snack Wrap?

This past week, McDonald's introduced a new Snack Wrap variety to its menu—the Angus Snack Wrap. I'll admit, I was not looking forward to this assignment. I checked out the Mac Snack Wraps months ago and thought the chicken options were much more palatable than the burger ones; I wasn't impressed by the Angus Burger in the Burger King-McDonald's showdown. Putting the two together didn't seem like such a good idea. The results? A mixed bag.

Big Burger Showdown: The McDonald's Angus vs. Burger King's XT

After my first fast-food foray, the Mac Snack Wrap, Serious Eats asked me to compare Burger King's new XT sandwich and McDonald's Angus Burger. I was ecstatic about a second chance to review products from two of our nation's iconic chains. But how do you taste a freshly, um, manufactured Burger King burger next to a McDonald's Angus and not have the contest be biased towards the home restaurant? Solution: home and away games, Champion's League-style.

Reality Check: McDonald's NYCrispy (Spain)

The NYCrispy from McDonald's in Spain, meant to be a physical manifestation of the "NY attitude," consists of a standard-issue McDonald's Big N' Tasty-size patty, a slice of cheese specked with some unidentified herb, a mealy tomato slice, shredded lettuce, mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, bacon, and a Parmesan bun. I'm not quite sure where the "NY" actually comes in, but the "crispy" part of the NYCrispy comes in the form in tiny battered-and-fried onion bits.
