Gyrene Burger, New Burger Delivery Concept From Domino's Founder

Domino's Pizza founder Thomas Monaghan is getting in on the burger trend by opening his first gourmet burger delivery shop, Gyrene Burger, in two months in Naples, Florida, at Central Avenue and U.S. 41, reports naplesnews.com. They'll offer two kinds of double-patty Angus beef burgers for under $6, one topped with ketchup, mustard, and pickle, and another topped with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. Both will also have cheese and bacon. Sides and drinks won't be available for greater efficiency and speed (the goal is to deliver the burgers in 15 minutes or less).

Winners of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival's Burger Bash

Congratulations to the winners of last night's Amstel Light Burger Bash at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami. For the second year in a row, Michael Symon won the People's Choice Award, this time for his Yo! Burger topped with fried salami, provolone cheese, shasha sauce, and pickled onion. He also won the award for Best Dressed Burger. The Yo! Burger is available at Symon's Ohio-based burger joint, B Spot (reviewed on AHT last year).
