Carrie Mashaney (Top Chef Season 11 and Chef de Cuisine at Aragona) may spend most of her professional life cooking contemporary Spanish dishes, but she still loves a great burger. Carrie says her perfect burger starts with a thick, all beef patty cooked medium rare and topped with bacon, a slice of American cheese, raw red onion, lettuce, and a squirt of mayo on a toasted brioche bun...but her top picks aren't all so classic and uncomplicated. Carrie Mashaney's Top 5 Burgers in Seattle

Painted Hills Beef Burger from Quinn's Pub: It's all about the meat with bacon, cheese, mayo and an insanely soft bun. I like to eat this burger nice and bloody.

Toyko Classic from Katsu Burger: The Japanese beef katsu (fried beef patty) is so juicy and the wasabi coleslaw is out of this world.

The Ma'ono Burger from Ma'ono Fried Chicken & Whisky: The homemade American cheese is so gooey and delicious and the fact that it's cooked on a wood-fired grill doesn't hurt either.

Palace Burger Royale from Palace Kitchen: This is the first burger I ever paid more than $3 for and it was so worth it. A perfectly executed burger, all around.
