Lower fat, beef-like alternatives have been popping up at chains like Fuddruckers and The Counter. These "exotic" meats, like bison and elk, are typically promoted as healthier than the standard beef patties, with less fat and calories. But, one important question remains: are they really worth ordering instead of a full-fat beef patty? Let us know your thoughts in this week's poll.

Note: based on some feedback regarding last week's poll, I've tried to program in all of the most likely answers, but if your reasoning isn't covered, feel free to let us know in the comments below.

5 Different Burgers

Last week, we asked if special promotions or just being closer to a competitor was enough to steer you away from your favorite fast food chain. Here's what a few AHT'ers had to say:

I'm not loyal to chains but I do tend to get into ruts for a while. I find something in particular I enjoy and I'll eat it each time I hit a drive thru for a month or two (which would encompass 2-4 trips total) and then I move on to some other thing. I'm sure it's some sort of advertising that gets me to think about moving on to some other place but I never really pick up on it.

No McBK for me. I'm a Rally's fan. Don't eat there often, but I must say I like their version of fast food burgers better even than 5 Guys. I'm not fiercely loyal to anyone, (except Terry's Turf Club, in Cincinnati) but Rally's does a consistently good job of hauling me back.

Poll Results

The results were a pretty even split: 33 percent of AHT'ers said they're always loyal to their favorite fast food chain, while 34 percent of AHT'ers also said they switch between several places depending on special promos, and 33 percent said they choose whichever chain is closest when hunger strikes. So, it appears that there are a lot of factors at work determining where AHT'ers get their fast-food fix.

Note: the poll remains open, so these numbers may shift slightly in the future.
