Poll: Fries on Burgers: Way or No Way?

According to Burger Business, several chains and restaurants are moving fries from the go-to burger side, to a burger topping, placing starchy planks of deep-fried potato between the top bun and the beef patty. Our own Todd Brock tried the Fry Lover's Burger at Rally's/Checkers and found it nearly indistinguishable from the regular cheeseburger. What do you think? Fries on burgers: way or no way? Take the poll and let us know.

Results from Last Week's Poll

Last week, we asked what is the most you are willing to pay for a burger and fries. Here's what a few AHT'ers had to say:

I appreciate good value at any price point, so I voted $25 +. After all, if the quality of the burger's ingredients commands the price, I'm willing to shell it out, but of course I'm also expecting the experience of that burger to be a positively memorable one. BTW to date I don't think that I've paid over $15 before tax & tip for a burger and fries.

Golden Palate

It's interesting that people (generally) have no second thoughts about paying well over $20 (close to $80 or $90) for a steak at a steakhouse, but when it comes to burgers, suddenly it's a big issue. I think the stigma has come from the fact that we are so used to paying like 4 bucks (if that) at any fast-food joint for a burger, fries, and a (huge) drink.

Mr. Nick

For a 'burger and fries' burger, $20. Anything beyond that price point, I can make it better at home.

Poll Results

The majority of AHT'ers said $15 is the most they'd pay for a burger and fries (30 percent), followed by $20 (21 percent), $12 (16 percent) $17 (12 percent) and $25+ (12 percent). Only 10 percent of respondents said they'd be willing to pay a maximum of $10 for a burger and fries.

Note: the poll remains open, so these numbers may shift slightly in the future.
