In McDonald's Canada's latest "behind the scenes" video answering customers' questions, they show you how their fries are made, from growing the potatoes to salting the fries in the kitchen. They start at one of the farms that supplies their potatoes, then head to the McCain processing plant that turns the potatoes into fries, and end at a McDonald's kitchen to show how much salt each basket of fries is seasoned with (noting that customers can request fries without salt).

A quick rundown of the fry-making process: After the potatoes are washed, peeled, and cut, they're blanched, coated in a dextrose solution, coated in something that prevents discoloration, dried, fried for 45 to 60 seconds, then frozen and packaged.
