According to a survey conducted by Market Force Information of more than 7,600 US consumers, Five Guys is America's favorite burger chain, followed by In-N-Out, Fuddruckers, A&W, and Smashburger. The graph above shows the results indexed by door count (not just the raw number of votes per chain, but the votes adjusted by number of locations for each chain).
When the results were tallied up by region, Five Guys still came out the top in every region. It was rated most highly in food quality/taste, service, cleanliness, and atmosphere. More information from PRWeb:
What factors do diners like most about their favorite burger joint? The study shows that many seem to vote with their palates rather than their wallets. As a case in point, the three top-ranking burger chains - Five Guys, Smashburger and In-N-Out - all rated toward the top in key categories such as food quality/taste, friendly service and cleanliness. In fact, Five Guys received the highest marks across all of the major attributes except value, a category that was captured by In-N-Out and Whataburger.
Conversely, of the restaurants that were studied, McDonald's ranked last for food quality/taste, and A&W ranked last in the remaining categories, including friendly service, value, cleanliness and atmosphere.
We haven't had much luck with Five Guys at AHT; do we only live near sub-par Five Guys locations? But Five Guys definitely gets props for earning top ratings for workplace conditions and being the subject of this fine songified burger review:
Sorry if you end up having that song stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
