We celebrate burgers year-round on AHT, but there seem to be more burger-centric festivities than usual as summer winds down. Here are some upcoming burger events through September:

Features: Burger-eating contests, "Bobbing for Burgers" contest, live local bands, National Hamburger Festival Queen Pageant, over 20 food vendors, and more

Features: "Taste 12 of the best burgers in Denver all in one downtown event—vote the best. Net proceeds to benefit hunger charities in Denver."

Features: Eleven New York chefs—including Seamus Mullen, Alex Stupak, and Zak Pelaccio—will compete for the Superburger crown and a slot in the 2012 New York City Burger Bash. "The price of admission gets you unlimited access to the chefs, the burgers and the booze to wash it all down."

Admission: Price of meal
Location: Restaurants around the city
Features: As part of the food festival Wellington On a Plate, burger lovers are invited to try burgers at 63 restaurants in Wellington and vote on their favorites. The top five restaurants with the highest average scores will compete in a final cook off on August 29.

Features: Burger-eating contests, burger cook-off contest, three stages of live music, a beer garden, a children's petting zoo, contests, folk and local art, hamburgers from over 30 stands

Features: All the burger samples you can eat from 15 restaurants, dessert samples from local vendors, craft beer, cider, and wine tastings, a chance to cast your vote for the People's Choice Best Burger award, and more. Ticket sales benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America charity.

Features: Burger cooking competitions, burger eating competitions, live music, food trucks, pet adoption opportunities, and more. All donations and proceeds raised by the competition will go to Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services.
