To celebrate their 5th anniversary, Burger King in Japan offered quintuple-patty Whoppers for only ¥550 (about $6.95), half the regular ¥1,100 price, from June 16 to 18. ...Yup, the three-day promotion ended today (or yesterday, if you're on Japan Standard Time), and to make things even more limited, the price only applied to the first 10 customers in each location who ordered the burger. But would you really have wanted to eat a budget-priced five-layer stack of Burger King patties? If our substandard experiences are anything to go on, probably not. (Related to the "five" theme, this Japanese blogger weighed the burger and got a total of 554 grams. Ooh, so close.)

Next weekend from June 19 to 21, Burger King is holding a decidedly less exciting promotion: half-priced Whopper Jr.'s for ¥155 (about $2).
