Food truck 666 Burger knows how to drum up loads of press before even taking to the streets of New York City: make a really expensive, over-the-top burger. Their $666 Douche Burger lives up to its name. Here's what it's made of, from Thrillist:
However, those all bow down to the Douche Burger, a $666 edible fiscal disaster that piles caviar, lobster & truffles on top of a foie-stuffed, gold-leaf-wrapped Kobe patty, smothers it with Gruyere melted with Champagne steam, and finishes it off with BBQ sauce made using Kopi Luwak coffee that's passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet, explaining why it "may not taste good, but will make you feel rich as f*ck".
Gothamist adds another important detail:
They wrap the whole thing up in three $100 bills, so, as one owner explains to us, "when you are done with it you'll have three greasy hundred dollar bills and have to decide what to do with them. That's why it is called the Douche Burger."
To sum it up, that's caviar, lobster, truffles, foie gras, gold leaf, Gruyère, Champagne, pre-digested coffee, and $100 bills. Last week's $295 "most expensive burger in the world" from Serendipity 3 has nothing on the Douche Burger.
