Bloomberg asked top chefs and restaurateurs to share their favorite cheap eats in New York City. (Most of the choices are cheap eats, but some take liberty with the term or forgot they were talking about cheap eats; can't say Le Bernardin or Minetta Tavern qualify.) Here are the burger picks (links go to Serious Eats reviews):

April Bloomfield (Spotted Pig, NY): Bill's Bar & Burger
Trevor Gulliver (St John, London): Corner Bistro
Danny Meyer (Gramercy Tavern, NY): Old Town Bar
Gordon Ramsay (Gordon Ramsay, NY): DBGB
Jean-Georges Vongerichten (Jean Georges, NY): Pop Burger, Shake Shack
