Today NPR's food blog The Salt investigates what goes into a school lunch burger from Fairfax County, Virginia, and explains what the ingredients are (mostly vitamins and minerals, with some extra flavors).

Along with the video above showing all the burger's ingredients, The Salt features interviews with parents in the Fairfax County group Real Food For Kids, which advocates getting schools to serve healthier food made from scratch, and the director of the county's Office of Food and Nutrition Services on the changes Fairfax County public schools are making to their food programs. For one, they're replacing the 26-ingredient burger for a 100 percent beef patty.
