Battle of the Burgers Taking Place This Saturday in Atlanta

20110926-battle-of-the-burgers.jpgEat burgers for a good cause this Saturday, October 1, at Battle of the Burgers in Atlanta taking place in John Howell Park from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A $25 ticket gets you 20 taste tickets to exchange for food from 25 participating restaurants. 100 percent of the proceeds go to Embraced, a non-profit organization that collects and shares gently-used orthopedic and prosthetic equipment with people in need.

If you want some exercise with your burger, you're in luck: Another part of the event is the Battle of the Burgers 5K taking place at 9 a.m., before the Battle of the Burgers. What makes it burger-y? Runners have the option of building a burger over the course of the route and eating it at the end. You can also contact them in advance if you want to wear a special burger outfit during the run. Registration is $25, with proceeds going to Embraced.
