Try Burgers from 18 Chefs at the Philadelphia Burger Brawl Tomorrow
Tomorrow, June 4, marks the first Philadelphia Burger Brawl where 18 chefs will compete for the title of "Best Burger" to raise money for William M. Meredith Elementary Public School. Rouge and 500° owner Rob Wasserman organized the event to help the school (where his oldest child attends) raise $40,000 to update their computer lab. Participating chefs are donating ingredients and Rouge is supplying the grills, charcoals, storage space, and serving equipment. Participating restaurants besides Rouge, and 500° include Adsum (AHT review), PYT (AHT review), Good Dog Bar & Restaurant (AHT review), Butcher & Singer (AHT review), London Grill, Paesano's, 10 Arts, Barbuzzo, and Table 31.
The Philadelphia Burger Brawl will take place at William M. Meredith Elementary Public School (725 S 5th Street; map) from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets cost $60 and can be purchased at philadelphia-burger-brawl.ticketleap.com, but if you can't decide now, tickets will also be available for walk-ups. The ticket price includes a T-shirt to go with the 18-burger tasting culminating in a "Best Burger" voted on by attendees and celebrity judges.
