Video: Fat Ho Burgers in Waco, Texas
Don't suppose we've got any AHT-ers who've tried the new Fat Ho Burgers in Waco? Unsurprisingly, the name has garnered the restaurant plenty of press since it opened last Tuesday, with news clips from FOX 4 and KWTX, but...how do their burgers taste? Waco Newsbeat says the reviews have been mixed and the Yelp page doesn't have much activity on it yet. You can view the menu here (via The Insane Asylum), which, aside from burgers (with names like "Supa Dupa Fly Ho" and "Bad Mamajama"), includes burritos, tacos, breakfast dishes, soul food, a dollar menu, and "Tiny Ho Meals."
The owner of Fat Ho Burgers is 23-year-old Lakita Evans, who worked her way through college to open her own burger joint. In the KWTX clip she says the name of her restaurant was inspired by the movie Phat Girlz. In the FOX4 clip she says, "Look what's going on over there in Japan, I mean, it's quite clear to us that this world's not gonna get any better. Why cry and be depressed, you know, and say, 'Oh, the economy's bad, yadda yadda yadda.' You know, somebody's gotta keep their sense of humor around here."
