A Father's Day Burger at The Counter Because You Love Dad—and It's Free

I'm not much for the "greeting card holidays," but since I love my Pop and a good burger deal, this Sunday I'm heading to The Counter for their Father's Day promotion, Burger For Dad (or the BFD). Go to any of their locations this Sunday with at least one person paying their own way and if you request the BFD, you (and by you, I mean your dad) get a free burger!

The Counter's concept is super-customization for your burger, and they really mean it. They provide clipboard menus for you to mark off your preferred bun, patty, toppings, and sauces. With the choice of a beef, chicken, turkey, veggie, or a "Market Select" patty, 12 cheeses, 33 toppings, 21 unique sauces, and four types of buns, you could devise over 312,000 different combinations.

The premium, build-your-own-burger chain started in Santa Monica in 2003, way ahead of the premium burger chain fad, and has been a standby on many people's "Best of Los Angeles" lists. They have 14 locations in California, eight more across the country, and even one in Ireland and one in Australia.

So if you're looking for an excuse to try a new burger spot and show Dad a little love, head there this Sunday (June 20) to show the old man just how much he taught you about fiscal responsibility and good burgers.
