Just in time for National Burger Month, aka May to the rest of the world, there are at least two burger festivals going on: El Reno Fried Onion Burger Day in El Reno, Oklahoma, and the Dudie Burger Festival in Tupelo, Mississippi.

El Reno Fried Onion Burger Day features live music, kids' activities, a car show, and a giant onion burger that will be handed out for free. The Dudie Burger festival celebrates the Dudie Dough Burger made of meat, flour and water that was first made during World War II. While the original Dudies Diner—a converted Memphis streetcar—is no longer an operating restaurant, it's now part of the Oren Dunn City Museum. Both festivals are this Saturday, May 1.

More burger festivals are coming up this summer. We'll set up an event calendar soon to keep you up to date.
