An Awesome Keychain: The Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger Tower by Re-Ment

Ever since I was little, my favorite section at Japanese supermarket Mitsuwa in Edgewater, New Jersey, has been the candy section—more specifically, the "toys and knickknacks that include candy" section. During my last visit this past weekend, this jumped out at me:

Food keychains (each including a piece of gum to qualify for "candy aisle" status), intricately designed by Re-Ment, for only $1.99 each! Naturally, I had eyes on the burger pictured at the bottom corner of the box, but I knew I only had a one in 12 chance of getting it since each package was a surprise.

HELL YES! This keychain represents a tower made of three buns, three meat patties, three slices of tomato, four strips of bacon, three slices of cheese, three frilly lettuce leaves, and eight slices of avocado, playfully leaning this way and that in defiance of gravity...and because the layers are stuck together. (I wouldn't suggest making this burger at home.)

I sort of lied about the "one in 12 chance" bit: two of my friends also bought keychains, and one of them offered to trade her burger tower with my original keychain of an overflowing bowl of noodles. I almost felt bad about taking her burger away.

If you want a Re-Ment food keychain, see if your local Mitsuwa carries them. I also found them at ningyoushi.com for $5 each.
