Next month, a McDonald's restaurant and McCafe are coming to Paris' Louvre museum, the most visited museum in the world with more than 8 million visitors annually, and people aren't happy about it. Telegraph gathers opinions from unhappy museum staff members and statements from the museum about their decision. "This is the pinnacle of exhausting consumerism, deficient gastronomy and very unpleasant odours in the context of a museum," said one art historian at the Louvre.

Although many people in France may dislike McDonald's, plenty of people seem to love the chain: France is McDonald's second-biggest market after the U.S.
