This Saturday, August 8, Laundromat Gallery in Bushwick is starting off their 2009 season with The Burger Show, an exhibition/barbecue of hamburger-themed art and real hamburgers "designed with an art historical or conceptual theme." One example is the Bernini Burger, made in honor of Baroque sculptor Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini, consisting of a beef patty topped with prosciutto, goat cheese, and extra virgin olive oil. These conceptual hamburgers will be on sale for $5 to $20, but viewing art from The Laundromat Flat File is free. The exhibition will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 238 Melrose Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206 (b/n Central Ave and Wilson Ave; map).
