The Grape? As in the chain wine bar The Grape? I know they say don't knock it til you try it, but I have a serious issue with the best burger in a state known for beef coming from a chain, let alone a wine bar chain!

although only out two days, this list has already spawned a lot of debate in the office, mostly for what's missing.

Wow, I'm usually a fan of Texas Monthly but I just don't agree with this list at all. The best hamburger in Houston is Beck's Prime??

No Casino El Camino? What a weird and random list.

No Keller's in Dallas????

I am very surprised Casino El Camino didn't make it considering it's one of the best in the world and they're only looking at one (albeit one large) state.

A lot of people are calling BS on this list. The Austin choices were really strange and Casino El Camino should definitely be on the list.

What about Chris Madrid's in San Antonio?? The whole city is obsessed with their Cheddar Cheesy and The Macho!

I've tried 4 out of the top 5 burgers on this list and in my opinion its all wrong. The so called "#1" burger in texas shouldn't be in the top ten, maybe even twenty! It's found in an up tight, swanky wine bar ( The Grape) were i felt self-conscious about diving into a hamburger and thought i should be cutting it up into small pieces with my fork and knife. Other than the tightly squeezed tables and the uncomfortable vibe the burger leaves alot to be desired. Especially for $13!!! Now the #3 burger, thats a whole different story! The Alamo Springs Cafe'. This struck out in the middle of nowhere country cafe' is very laid back and even more welcoming! Yes very hard to find being 10-15 miles off the main road and away from town but once you get there you feel right at home from the very beginning. Now to the burger, from the first bite to the last, the flavor and the juiciness of the meat will keep you longing for another bite. The huge beef patty is grilled to perfection. The outside is slightly charred to give it a crispy but not burnt taste while keeping the middle very moist and juicy. The meat sits on a bed of grilled diced green chiles that adds a unique and delicious taste. Topped with cheese, lettuce, grilled onions, and freshly sliced avocados gives a perfect compliment to the even more perfect meat. All on a jalapeno cheese bun that ever gets soggy and has amazing taste and texture in its self. Once you pick this burger up and have a bite you'll never want to put it down. Trust me that is exactly what happened to me. And i didn't until it was gone! Even if you are full after its gone, you will consider ordering another one just to have one more taste!!! Take the drive to Fredericksburg and have this burger! This will be the burger that i will compare all the others to, probably for the rest of my life!!!

Novrosky's in Beaumont should be in the top 10 at least.
