Dear AHT: A Great Burger at The Bird in Berlin

Hi guys! Long-time listener, first time caller.

I just got back from a trip to Berlin where I was taken to a restaurant called The Bird. It was described as an American place with burgers and steaks. Normally when I travel I try to steer clear of "American" restaurants as it seems like a big waste of the opportunity to try foreign cuisine, and I was not excited at all up until the moment I tasted my cheeseburger.

Let me tell you - this was definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had in my entire life. Fantastic char, juicy, and great flavor throughout. It was a little large and unwieldy, but I made due and it was definitely worth it. If you're ever in Berlin it is worth checking out. A friend who lives there ordered a steak (some kind of filet) and said it was the best he's had that side of the Atlantic.
