Serious Eats to Spin Off AHT

This is a somewhat bittersweet announcement. Bitter because A Hamburger Today, which I founded nearly four years ago, will soon be completely out of my hands.

Due to the continuing woes in the economy at large, Serious Eats has decided to spin off some of its properties—A Hamburger Today being one of them.

The sweet part is that we were able to find a buyer who is as committed as we are to bringing you high-quality burger reviews and burger news.

I'm not at liberty to disclose the identity of the buyer at this time, but I can tell you that the folks presenting us with this golden opportunity are from a burger chain you may have heard of.

I know what you're thinking, and I can assure you that the editorial direction of A Hamburger Today will not change. The buyer believes in the integrity of AHT's voice, and any self-promotion or advertising it does on AHT will be readily distinguishable from editorial content.

The new management for AHT is already in place, and after this post, they will take the reins. Nick Solares will remain on as their burger reviewer for the immediate future. And they're allowing AHT editor-in-chief Robyn Lee to chime in a bit later with her own farewell message.

As founding editorial director of AHT, I'd like to thank everyone who has read this site over the years. You helped make it what it was, is, and will continue to be.
