In the noncommittally-titled piece “Five Tasty Burger Joints Worth Visiting,” CNN.com highlights five burgers across America: The “Ghetto Burger” at Ann’s Snack Bar in Atlanta; the “Duane Purvis All-American” at The Triple XXX in West Lafayette, Indiana; the Single Bacon Cheeseburger at Hodad’s, near San Diego; the Hamburger Sandwich from Louis’ Lunch in New Haven; and the Phillips Grocery’s Phillip Burger in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
We've heard about Ann's, Phillip's, and Louis' Lunch before. But what about the others? What are your thoughts on CNN's must-try list?

The Hodad's bacon cheeseburger is indeed one mighty delicious burger. One of the better ones that comes to mind though there are certainly many to be had.
Ann's is an ATL landmark. It's in a questionable part of town, and it isn't very big. Get there early or wait awhile. But the ghetto burger is worth it. I prefer mine w/o chili as it is messy enough without having to be hosed off to return to work.
Louis' Lunch has very good hamburgers, but I am turned off by the attitude of the cook/owner and his assistant. They feel they are doing you a huge favor by allowing you to eat a burger there. Plus, I like ketchup and mustard on a burger and this place does not allow any condiments, which I find arrogant and silly.
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents concerning the San Diego Burger - I added a link from a local station that compares my two favorites. The Hodad's Burger is great (good veggies and great bacon) but its a bit of a handfull. The Rocky's Burger, on the other hand, is a pleasure in its simplicity. I would look forward to a side by side review the next time your in San Diego.

Triple XXX is real good. I wrote a little review and posted it as a myspace blog back in January. Pics too:

Phillips list two addresses - Van Dorn or Lamar. Which is it?
