Carl's Jr. CEO on Their Controversial Ads, and More

20090410-carlsjr-qb.jpgFast Food Maven talked to Andrew Puzder, chief executive for Carl’s Jr.’s parent company CKE Restaurants, to get some clarification on complaints FFM readers made about Carl's Jr. In regards to their eyebrow-raising ads, he said, "When you see our ads, you see them once, and you remember it. [...] if we run vanilla ads, this company won’t exist.” Related: In Videos: 'Target: Women,' Carl's Jr. Edition

Perhaps, maybe, they could stop trying to be cheap and make the food edible. The reason people forgot about them is not because of "vanilla ads," it's because the food just isn't memorable. But when I see the new ads, I do remember them--as I decide to drive right past to a locally-owned eatery who puts more effort into their food than into commericals.

"Vanilla" LOL, more vocabulary from the land of porn-sters.

The food at Carl's Jr. is memorable, for the reason that it sucks.

jkdrummer - using "vanilla" to describe something plain is vocab that's been popularly used since the 70s... it's not food pornster vocab.
