The Only Good Burgers in Paris

"The only decent burgers in Paris are served at Ferdi (32 rue Mont Thabor, First, 011-331-42-60-82-52) and Le Scoop (154 rue Saint Honoré, First, 011-331-42-60-31-64)," says food writer Alexander Lobrano at the New York Times blog The Moment. Related: Burger Recommendations in Paris

I actually had a good burger in Paris. Cafe Lateral Ave, Mac-Mahon
01 43 80 20 96 It's a pretty busy place http://www.cafelateral.com
Right near the Arc De Triomphe. Check out their menu... Bon Appetit!

We were in Paris in August and made our way to Le Scoop for a lunch of their heralded hamburger... Sadly despite the owner's Midwestern origins, she's lost the necessary connection to her homeland to deliver a great burger. The place is a tiny upstairs/downstairs dining room that's a bit wider than my armspan so it has a squished, Parisian feel, but the food is not nearly as charming. The owner is a former attorney who migrated to Paris to leave behind her 9 to 5 life and wound up running a much-touted American cafe. For that I commend her.
