The Philippines' most popular fast food chain, Jollibee, is opening its first East Coast location this Saturday in Woodside, Queens. Serious Eats contributor Joe DiStefano mentioned the Jollibee opening on our New York site but didn't say too much about the burgers. According to its website, there are six burgers to choose from:

Amazing Aloha: two beef patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and a slice of pineapple
Cheesy Bacon Mushroom: two beef patties, bacon, mushrooms, and cheese
Champ: third-pound patty, lettuce, tomato, and cheddar
Yum! with Cheese: single patty with cheese and special dressing
Yum! with TLC: single patty with tomato, lettuce, cheese, and special dressing
Yum!: single patty with special dressing

Have you tried Jollibee? What do you think of it?

I have not tried the Jollibee franchises here in the United States, but I was a fan of the fast food establishment in the Philippines. The food has a more savory yet sweet bent to it, which may not appeal to many Americans. Can't wait to try it out once it opens this weekend!

I live in LA, and there are a few jollibee's around - one of them is about a mile from me. I have never eaten there. Can someone let me know if its worthwhile?

Wow, photoshopped burgers YUM ;-)

Whenever I am in Calif I usually go for the ChickenJoy. I am trying to convince my significant other to make a 2hr roundtrip to check this place out for burgers.

Dunno about pineapple on a burger? the jury is still out,...

Jollibee's food is more geared towards the palates/preferences of the Philippines. The burgers are indeed more sweet and do not have the smokey, beefy flavor that we are all familiar with. I ate at one of the many locations in PI and it was just OK. It's pretty much on par quality-wise with McDonalds. The Bee mascot kind of creeps me out, too. On another note I do love that you can get Fried Chicken and steamed rice at any McD's or Burger King in PI.

I've had a burger from the Jollibee on Beverly Blvd. and found it... um ... a little scary.

its our version of mcdonalds (although i do prefer mcdonalds to jollibee).. Its a fast food burger basically.. thats it. I don't really remember when i last ate there.. I think i was 12

I attempted to eat at a location is San Francisco. I had one bite of a burger and was done. I advise all to stay clear.
