What to Get at Flip Burger Boutique

20090121-flipburger.jpgIn her review of Flip Burger Boutique in Atlanta, Georgia, Besha Rodell of Creative Loafing recommends non-beef burgers over beef, the "vegetable of the day," and the foie gras milkshake. Related: 'Top Chef' Contestant Richard Blais Opening Flip Burger Boutique Next Week

People who want an "honest" burger don't want to go to a frou-frou yuppie place which specializes in pate milkshakes for cryin' out loud. Any place which has reviews describing a burger joint in terms such as "etherially airy," isn't a burger place worthy of my frequenting. This place will do well with the midtown, Atlantic Station urban professional wannabes who wouldn't recognize a good burger if it hit them in their upturned snoots.
Give me a fatburger or Vortex or even Krystal before I ever set foot in this place again. Much too pretentious for a burger place as one can readily tell from the faux crap on the menu. This place is telling all the cosmopolitans in the area that it's cool to eat a burger - as long as it is a pate encrusted, arugula kissed, raisin-ketchup (or is it catsup) graced, soybean cod lamb burger with multi-grain textured buns. Any review that even points out that "regular" beef burgers are considered as secondary to your burger place menu augments my argument.
Save your money, have a much better time - go to Red Robin instead.

Hear, hear! Well said Oneiron.
