Burger Joint Recommendations in Salt Lake City: Crown Burger

Vanessa Chang of The Salt Lake Tribune recommends three burger joints in Salt Lake City: Hires Big H, B&D Burger, and Crown Burger. Her favorite is from the Salt Lake City-based Crown Burger chain for its beef-on-beef action:

The combination of thickly layered cured pastrami and griddled beef patty is either grotesque or sheer music to people's ears. For every gripe I hear about Crown Burger's unappetizing heft, I know several folks who wax poetic about this combination. Most of them aren't foodies, which proves to me that the love of a good burger transcends sociological and gustatory boundaries.

Crown Burger's menu includes gyros, sandwiches, baklava, and pastrami-less burgers. Look at all of Crown Burger's offerings in this menu from the Denver-based website.

I've been to the Denver location on S. Colorado Blvd. The pastrami burger is as delicious a concoction one would expect from a greasy spoon. They do have gyros on the menu. Personally I'd like to see a burger topped with gyros meat on the menu, too. I might have to try to get one customized later this week.
