Top Chef: Season 4 contestant Richard Blais is opening his upscale burger joint Flip Burger Boutique next week in Atlanta, Georgia. According to the Flip Burger website, they will open on December 10 with dinner service only and add lunch the next day. Here are some of his menu items:
Corned beef + cabbage + poached egg ($7)
Smoked beef + cole slaw + RQB sauce ($7)
Philly + Cheese Whiz foam + green peppers ($7)
Beef tartare + capers + aioli + cornichons ($11)
Butcher + caramelized onions + blue cheese + red wine jam ($8)
Country fried + pimento cheese + pickled okra ($7)
More non-burger menu items are listed on Wined and Dined and Blais' blog. There are already some reviews on Yelp from the friends and family opening. [Tip 'o the hat to: Andrew F.]

Assembling any ingredients to make it look like a burger doesn't make it a burger ! It seems to me that this was a last minute decision to make an already designed menu to be served in buns.
Just posted this morning on Flip Burger website:
"We are opening Wednesday, December 10th for dinner only. Lunch and
Dinner service will begin on Thursday, December 11th."
What a bunch of pretentious dolts posting here. The place wasn't even opened and some of these snobbish fools rendered judgement based on one food pic and pre-established notions of what they've heard or think they know.
I visited the actual opened, operating restaurant last night with four others and our entire experience (short of the fact that both restrooms went on the fritz during our stay) was exceptional. Between the five of us we had four different burgers, five sides and two of the milkshakes. My lamburger was perfectly cooked and each of the toppings complemented the dish. My wife proclaimed the turkey burger with alfalfa sprouts, avocado, and tomato to be the best burger she's ever had. Standouts among the sides were the day's soup - black bean in this case - which was nothing short of excellent, and the roasted mushrooms. The fries were delicious and the milkshakes - Krispy Kreme and the Nutella with burnt marshmallow - were a fabulous ending.
