Dear AHT: Great Burger at Zum Stammtisch in Queens

Clicking in to the AHT inbox recently, we've got this bit of juicy intel. Eat up!
So my wife and I have been going to Zum Stammtisch for the last year or so and its one of our favorite burgers in the city. And we have tried a bunch. Had my camera with me yesterday so I snapped some quick shots. These pictures do not do it justice, but its a house ground griddle cooked burger with the perfect amount of outside crunch and inside loose crumble. Always cooked just right (pictured burger was ordered medium) Definitely worth the trip to Queens.

Check out the autopsy shot after the jump.
Looks like a promising burger to me! When I first looked at the map, my car-less self thought, "How the hell do I get there?" Seems like the best way is to take the L or M to the Myrtle Ave/Wyckoff Ave stop then switch to the Q55 bus that goes along Myrtle Avenue.
Has anyone else tried the burger from Zum Stammtisch?
while it strikes me as heresy to order anything non-schnitzel, i might just try this. a friend has an annual birthday dinner here and it's coming up soon!
It's not that bad of a walk from the Fresh Pond Rd. M station. I've never tried their burger because that would mean less room for the smoked pork chops.
@Krista: It'd take me about 20 minutes to walk that distance. ..Ok, not terrible. ;) But not an area I'm very familiar with either. Maybe afterward I could walk off the burger.
They do serve them on English muffins. I've never had one, though they look decent enough. The one friend I have who has ordered their burger in the past has since been so ridiculed for the lack of adventure in his choice that I'd have a hard time getting the words out to the waitress if I wanted one.

Perfect appetizer to preceed this wonderful burger is their signature steak tartare. And a stein of Spaten (of course)
