Scrapple-Topped Burger from Lamplighter in Atlanta, Georgia

Photograph from Lamplighter

Chef Carmen Cappello of the recently opened Lamplighter in Atlanta, Georgia is serving a burger made with two well-done patties topped with white American cheese, a fried egg, and scrapple. Cappello is originally from Philadelphia where scrapple—a fried slice of mashed pork scraps—is more common. I'm tired of bacon on my burgers; bring on the scrapple. But if you go look at their menu, it says that the hamburger is served ALWAYS well done!! That's not for me; I want my burgers rare or medium rare at worst.

@fishman69: I was surprised by that too...never seen a burger always well done before. But I assume he does it that way because it works. Too bad I can't try it for myself!

Five Guys only serves burgers well done.
