20081015-vice-bestburgers.jpg

Clockwise from top left: Spotted Pig, Shake Shack, Five Guys, and Corner Bistro.

Vice Magazine gives their picks for best burgers in New York City. Except for Lever House, we've reviewed all of their favorite burgers on AHT. Here's how they stack up:

The Best: Burger Joint, Dumont, Shake Shack, Five Guys, Spotted Pig

The OK: Fanelli's Cafe, Corner Bistro

FAIL: Burger Shoppe

The burger joint was very good when it was cheaper & now is far from a good value. I don't see Five Guys, it is a well done greasy mess without taste. Spotted pig is very good, but eating there is like being in the middle of the roller derby, getting elbowed left & right. BLT burger is really tasty. Shake shack is the "in and out burger" of the East Coast. BRG, Stand & Rare are all solid and Westville is also very good. Don't overlook the burger at the Dinosaur or Blue Smoke too.

... dying to try the Lever House burger. I'm in if you go ;)!

Rare in the village stinks! They have problems there...
