Man Eats 15-Pound Burger, Surprisingly Doesn't Explode, Wins $400

Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, started offering a 15-pound burger (actually 20.2 pounds with the bun and toppings) three years ago, but only now has one person successfully finished the whole thing. 21-year old chef Brad Sciullo finished the burger in 4 hours and 39 minutes, although he notes that, "About three hours into it, things got tough." For finishing the burger in under five hours, he won $400, three t-shirts, and a certificate. [Tip o' the hat to: Matthew M.]

Did he win a free trip to the local hospital for a complimentary stomach pump?

Gross!

i bet he had to call "Joe the plumber" to unclog his toilet the next day!

No offense to him or anyone here, but that is digusting. It's gluttony taken to a whole new level. He should take that $400 directly to the nearest homeless shelter or soup kitchen, and donate it to feed people who really need a meal.

Ugh.

Gosh, I sure hope he knew and trusted the source of that burger meat....

@Brownie, it does seem pretty indulgent.

Wow, I don't see why the homeless shelter deserves the $400 over himself or anyone. It's not like he's taking food from the needy. The meat will be cooked for patrons or be thrown out as waste if it isn't used in time.

I want to hear his story of the 24 hours following the historic meal.

I'm with Laurel E on that...

I admit, I'm impressed. That's a lot of food, I hope everyone asked him what he wanted to eat later.

lol @ jword2001

I feel bad for "joe the plumber"

A friend of mine tried to eat the two-pounder the very next day and coudlnt do it.

It was as big as his head.
