In Videos: BurgerTime Video Game Commercials (1980s)

In 1980s video game BurgerTime, you're chef who must make hamburgers before anthropomorphic, man-eating foodstuffs make a hamburger out of you. It's every hamburger-lover's nightmare. As for why hot dogs, fried eggs, and pickles were chosen as the enemies, I have no idea—maybe they were the foods that could be best recognized in boxy, pixelated video game-form. Its true about the pixels. Burgertime is an amazing example of the mind's ability to infer meaning from abstract blobs. Taken independently, I don't think anybody could decipher what one of those single things is, I mean the lettuce might as well be a bat.

Have you seen the video explaining how Burgertime is an allegory for class struggle. I'm buying it:

I think I've gone through about 6 sets of arrow keys on my computer playing the Burgertime ROM.
