Sometimes we all get the urge to take a bubble bath on the job, but most of us hold back. Even if it's our birthday. Not so with Timothy Tackett, a Burger King employee (now former employee) in Xenia, Ohio, who celebrated by stripping down and hopping into the stainless steel sink usually meant for washing more work-related things. Like utensils.
Far from ashamed, the BK tub man posted the video online, as if Greene County health commissioner Mark McDonnell wouldn't find out and eventually fire him. When Burger King spokeswoman Denise Wilson commented on the situation, she clarified: "we have sanitized the sink and have disposed of all other kitchen tools and utensils that were used during the incident." Because customers probably don't want naked man germs mixing with spatulas meant for burger-flipping.
As one customer best put it, "that's just, it's wrong." Even if you do support bubble bath in most cases, this probably isn't right. Watch the scandalous tub video after the jump.
wow, I'm amazed that a Burger King has a sink in the first place. And that they use "utensils." Seriously. I just assumed everything they "cooked" was pre-packaged and engineered to such a degree that this sort of thing would be unnecessary...
Is this honestly the worst thing to happen in a fast food joint? From what I saw coworkers do in my youthful summer jobs I doubt an employee bathing would degrade the quality or safety of the food. People do terrible things to restaurant food, why doesn't the heavy hand of BK come down on them? I guess because they don't put videos of it on the internet.
A guy I worked with at Taco Bell (shut up, I was in high school and I needed the money) brought a gun in once and ended up firing a round into the water heater.
I think the sink video is funny, but I kind of understand where his rage comes from.
Don't worry about finding a spatula at a Burger King. The burgers are run through a broiler on a grate. I was an assistat manager at BK in the 90's and the closest thing you cn find to a kitchen tool there is a knike used to cut burgers (I laugh when I use that word about their product) in half (which the employees hate to do).
Complete idiot...Obviously planned out. He apparently needs some serious attention. Too bad no one called the cops while he was washing up...That would have been a much better video.
1) 'Is this honestly the worst thing to happen in a fast food joint?'
There is a Chinese buffet palace near us that was cited for having an employee process garlic by placing it in a large stock pot and churning it with his bare feet.
2) This is one of the most creative ways I have seen to quit your trash job.

What a mouthbreather. This is a guy who got hired simply for the opportunity to get fired in a big time manner.

If I manged there, I would of dumped a gallon of concentrated degraser into his 'tub' and said "take your time, can I get you a beverage?"
