Cutlets to NYC Burgers: Drop Dead
Mr. Cutlets discloses his top ten burgers in New York City to the New York Daily News, and his No. 1 pick isn't even in the city. It's Hildebrandt's in Williston Park, out on Long Island. The rest of his list, however (with the exception of White Manna in Hackensack, New Jersey), is within easy ranging for straphangers. AHT asked Mr. Cutlets about his top ten oh so long ago, and it's interesting to note how his list has changed in that time. (As it should; no top burger list should be static.) The head-to-head, after the jump.

White Castle ? That's a strange one. Either Mr. Cutlet hadn't tried one before or White Castle improved their already proven recipe. I don't see how suddenly it pops up on his list. If its a constantly updated list from a growing database, its only fair to see where the others like the Shack stands. As for BLT, its just another OK burger. Unless you come from Tibet and this is your first burger experience.

In Cutlets's defense, I know for a fact he's a HUGE FAN of White Castle—as am I. It didn't just pop up on his radar in the last two years.
I like BLT Burger. I don't know why everyone slags it off.

Hildebrandt's is great and the burger is listed at the bottom of the menu. Thanks to his advice I put them in my book.

I went had a burger at Hildebrandts about 6 or 7 years ago and didn't find it very good. Maybe they've changed the way the make it or maybe I just got a bad one. They're best known for their ice cream. Their sundaes are awesome and the place is very old.

White Manna should be #1

Sorry, but Veselka is overrated.
On a similar note, Ryan's Irish Pub across the street dishes out a pretty mean $5 burger.
