I just need to preface this by saying this stuff looks absolutely vile and disgusting and would never have fried anything in that oil. However, reports indicate they tasted pretty darn good.

MF! Word up! We've all been digging Grocery Eats here at Serious Eats/AHT since you started it. Love the daredevil kitchen experiments. And, yeah, that oil looked pretty crazy.

I'd say the oil is packed with accumulated flavor.

I...I...I'm speechless. I don't know what to do with myself other than chain myself to my desk chair to avoid running the the nearest White Castle, passing the C-Town and picking up some beer-batter mix on the way back home.
