The patty had plenty of flavor and juice but just needed a little more fire. Despite some nice grill marks the surface was just a little light in color. The rest of the ingredients were wonderfully fresh however. With the line at Shake Shack being so absolutely incomprehensibly long these days (It is a great burger but I wouldn't wait for Kobe beef as long as some people wait for a burger) Goodburger is a viable alternative in the area. And I would argue that it is a comparable, albeit different burger vis a vis the Shack. Many I am sure will prefer the flame grilling cooking method, and I doubt the line will be as long.
Uh, not for nothing, but Union Square and Madison Square Park are not in the same "area." - I'd say NY Burger is the only alternative to waiting in line at the Shack.
Have you seen the Shack line lately? It almost stretches to Goodburgers door sometimes j/k. Seriously 18th st to 23rd st is close enough to qualify as the same "area" it is literally a 5 minute walk. As for NY Burger.....no comment....
Hope this isn't considered off-topic, but I braved the infamous Shake Shack line on Saturday. It was long, but it moved quickly enough and it was a nice day (albeit slightly cold) to sit around outside. And I was definitely impressed with the burger (a double shack burger) and fries. The burger had a nice salty crunch you don't find everywhere.
"Not in the same area?" Sounds like somebody's had a few too many extra large concretes. Just point your motorized cart south on Broadway and you'll be there in no time.
Goodburger is miles ahead of NY Burger in taste and you won't poop our pants before your last bite, like with a Shack burger. I'm just sayin'.

Tell me there's a dreadlocked stoner at the counter bleating "Welcome to Goodburger, home of tha' Goodburger, can I take your orrrrrrr-dehr?"
Because if there's not, the last bit of my childhood has died.

A person who compares fire grilling to griddling has some kind of moral deficiency.
