Wendy's Baconator: Six Strips of Bacon
Wendy's apparently has a new burger called the Baconator.
It's got six slices of bacon on it. Two patties. Two slices of cheese. Seems pretty crazy. I guess if you're going to add bacon to a burger, you might as well go for broke. Of course, as someone pointed out on Slashfoods, where AHT first saw this thing, six slices of Wendy's bacon is like three slices of store-bought.
The Baconator may be impressive, but it's nothing compared to the bacon cheeseburger, a burger whose patty is made entirely from ground bacon.
While we're on the subject of Wendy's, I've noticed lately that the chain has been emphasizing the "fresh never frozen" angle on its website and in a series of bewildering television spots.
This seems like a smart move for the chain as a way to differentiate itself from the rest of the pack—I only wonder why it didn't go with this tack earlier. Maybe I'm not young enough to be swayed by the red-wig-wearing dude—he's no Dave Thomas, but he certainly beats Mr. Wendy.

This is fitting, given that Wendy's is the only fast food place I'd trust to serve me bacon.

that thing gives me the willies - if you've ever used Pandora.com to stream music, you'll see they're heavily advertising on that channel. I get sick just looking at the thing.

Has Wendy's always been "fresh never frozen"? No wonder it was always my favorite fast food burger chain (except for In and Out, of course).
