Los Angeles burger haven In-N-Out is rumored to be planning a New York debut, but burgers have already taken the city by storm.
Where those rumors surfaced, AHT doesn't know, but this would be insane. In-N-Out could build a warehouse-sized location in New York City and it still would be packed.
Well said, Adam. For every great thing here (in NYC), there are a ton of people who want to try it just like you = no fun. Besides, I've often wondered about the myriad ways In-N-Out's employee template would fail in this area, and that's a big deal for anyone who's been to one out west. They're clean, organized, yet deliberate with each order. I'd say the over-under here would be about 2 hours before the Double-Doubles start getting served all lopsided and shit.
I agree Sandro...I hate to say it but the people who would be employed at an NYC In-N-Out would ruin that charm and cleanliness you find out west. I was in San Fran two weeks ago and both those characteristics stuck out to me. You can't get that around here. The lines would would be endless in NYC as well. I don't even want to be imagine the chaos.
A person I know in the real estate business told me over the weekend that In-N-Out was looking at spaces in the NY area. He wasn't clear on his source, so I discounted the possibility. I still find it hard to believe.
Hmmm... A lifelong Angeleno, while in college, I had two 6 month internships in NYC, both in the City, and I lived in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn with a view of ocean. So I don't know if they're ready for this kind of West Coast invasion, but should it come to pass, can I order my burger "protein style" like I do here( for those left in the lurch, it means that INO subs large leaves of iceberg lettuce for their bread bun).

I called an "experienced service Rep" at IN-N-Out (1-800-786-1000 ) and they denied any knowledge of an NYC store. But hope does springeth eternal...

ComeoncomeonCOME ON. Midwesterners live on a steady diet of hamburgers and steak--can't we get ONE measly In-N-Out or Fat Burger out here in Chicago?
