Gothamist-AHT Burger Party Is Tomorrow!

An update on the Gothamist-AHT burger party tomorrow at Water Taxi Beach in Queens...

The Weather Forecast

Despite the forecast, the event is rain or shine. If it rains, we'll be under a large tent. So don't let the drizzle keep you from the sizzle.

The Burgers

As you may know, we let the readers of AHT and Gothamist decide which regional American burgers we'd be eating. They are (clockwise from top left in photo) the Pimento Burger, the Butter Burger, and the Onion Burger.

Other Questions

Vegetarian Options? We've had a number of people ask about this. My first reaction is You have got to be kidding me. Shoo! Shoo! But I understand that you might have vegetarian friends you want to bring with you. There are no vegetarian options at the QBQ BBQ part of Water Taxi Beach. The rest of the beach will be open with its regular food service, however, so your friends can get tofu dogs there. Note: non-burger items are not included in the QBQ admission; that's all you.

Can I Pay at the Door? No. Tickets are by advance sale only, via TicketWeb. Tickets will be on sale until noon tomorrow.

Can My Friends Show Up? Yes. Water Taxi Beach is huge, and we'll only have a little corner of it for the event. The rest of the beach is open to the public. Anyone who doesn't have a ticket is welcome to show up and mingle with you, but they'll have to procure their rations at the regular food-service area.

Shout Out

Special thanks to Six Apart (the folks behind Movable Type, Vox, LiveJournal, and TypePad) for sponsoring a keg of beer for the festivities. They've kicked in for a keg of Orlio IPA. (Gothamist and AHT parent site Serious Eats are kicking in for a second keg, too; after that, the beer money comes from your pocket, folks ;)
