Five Guys Open in Brooklyn Heights

Friend of AHT George "Hamburger America" Motz sent us the following photos and observations on the recently opened Five Guys in Brooklyn Heights. He went yesterday. —The Mgmt.

Address: 138 Montague Street, Brooklyn NY 11201
Phone: 718-797-9380
Fax: 718-797-9381
Notes: "We are getting the sign next week," the owner told me. Kind of an odd, but super busy location two blocks from the courthouse on Montague Street.

Not too big, but PACKED for lunch 15 minutes before I took this pic.

Ask for a cheeseburger and you automatically get a double. Mine had pickles and mustard. Just look at that glorious heap of goodness.

Huge crew, efficient assembly line

I forgot about their peanut thing. They encourage you to grab a handful of free peanuts at the door and toss the shells on the floor.

I like Brooklyn Heights Blog's take on it: "The competitive advantage that FGBF has over other burger chains is that it appears they may have some sort of "screening process" for their employees. The lovely ladies who took my order were helpful and patient and the kitchen crew were working together like a well oiled machine."

That was pretty much our take on the chain when we visited the location in College Point, Queens, back in early May.

No matter which location you go to, The food is always Excellent and the service is superior. I can't wait until Five Guys opens in Manhattan at 55th Street Between 5th and 6th!

Hey this place rules (well, everything except Pink Floyd "Hey You" blasting during my visit).

I checked out Five Guys in College Point today, its not too far away from Joe's Bestburger on Main St. in Flushing, you just have to take the Q20B which stops in front of the shopping center where Five Guys is located. A Bacon Cheeseburger with Mushrooms and Fried Onions, a regular order of Fries, and a coke set me back $10.70. All in all it was a good burger but not worthy of the rave reviews that it got in Zagat. I think Joe's on Main St. is the best burger in New York hands down. Its good mostly because it emulates the In N Out formula perfectly.

BurgerBoy2009: I really like Joe's Best Burger, too. Not sure which one I'd go for, but I'd lean toward Joe's. I hope Joe's starts expanding beyond Flushing and the Bronx.

Wow,
Very good Burgers. Good Fries.
Its a great Hamburger experience!

Awesome! Glad to hear it, Phauxtoe!

5 Guys rules!! Better I think than Jake's which is another place around me...
